BT Interface - Belltone

 

The BT1 Telephone interface offers the convenience of operating a door entry system from an existing BT style telephone without interfering with its normal usage. All types of domestic telephones are compatible with the BT1 including cordless DECT telephones which are of great benefit to those people with limited mobility. The interface may also connect onto a telephone switchboard (PABX).

In addition to conversing with a caller at the front door panel the resident may allow them access by operating the lock release directly from their telephone.

DECT (Digital Enhanced Cordless Telecommunicatios). Fermax has developed the first wireless audio door entry system with DECT technology. This system, designed for houses, businesses, offices, warehouses, shops, companies...uses advanced DECT technology for communication between the outdoor panel and the home, so it does not need any installation between the two.

As well as saving on installation, this equipment has other advantages. THE FERMAX DECT DOOR ENTRY SYSTEM has a double use:
1. AUDIO ENTRY SYSTEM, allowing communication with the outdoor panel and the opening of the door.
2. TELEPHONE to receive and make outside calls using the existing telephone line.

The home terminal is a wireless phone that allows the user complete mobility and freedom to attend to visitors and outside calls from anywhere (in the garden, the swimming pool, the kitchen, the warehouse, the back room of a shop, the second floor of the house, the garage etc.) using the same telephone.

The equipment is compatible with any DECT telephone (GAP compatible on the market). It has:
- HANDS-FREE functioning. Very useful in offices, receptions, etc.
- The ringing tone can be programmed to distinguish whether the call is coming from the outdoor panel or from outside.
- Extras: telephone number book with search, automatic receiver lifting, redial, secrecy mode, emergency call, on-screen coverage indicator, low battery indicator, multi-language function, 5 programmable tunes, call identification and missed calls, internal communication with the opportunity to transfer calls…

INSTALLING THE KIT
• The range or operating distance of the kit is approximately 20-30 metres, depending on the characteristics of the installation (measured between the outdoor panel and the telephone base).
• It is recommended that the telephone base is positioned as close as possible to the street-level board (e.g. by the entrance door, the hall etc.)
• The outdoor panel must be kept away from metal parts.

Simple  installation, the DoorPhone is both attractive and practical and has an exceptional degree of reliability as it employs frequency agile transmission technology.

Many applications at extra cost including door release, gate opening, garage door triggering, external light switching and communications between the caller unit and portable handset, make the DoorPhone extremely versatile. A twin button caller unit and keypad version is also available for twin purposes.

The DoorPhone has rechargeable handsets and the options of anti-vandal metal covers for the caller units and ac power supplies for the controller. A telescopic antenna for the controller is supplied as standard.

The Caller Unit

Sited by the front door or gate, this is the outside unit by which visitors announce and identify themselves.

Available with one or two call buttons and with or without keypad. Comes in white ABS plastic as standard with the Single Function System with a ruggedised metal cover as an option.

The Handset

Allows the user to identify and welcome visitors, to control the opening of doors and gates and to verify their status, open or closed via it's LCD display. The handset can also control lighting when used in conjunction with the lighting controller. The cordless handset is recharged by it's associated base unit. There are two types available, a battery operated base unit and a mains operated version.

The Controller

Connected to the caller unit, to which it supplies power and for which t makes radio communications. It directly controls and powers any 12V latch or electric lock and depending upon the DoorPhone model and handset can also control and supervise a motor driven gate or door. An auxiliary lighting controller can also control external lighting and garage doors.

  • The outdoor unit
    This is the outside element by which visitors announce and identify themselves. Placed at the gate or front door, the outside unit is both robust and discrete.
  • The controller
    Connected to the outdoor unit to which it supplies power and for which it makes radio transmissions, the controller is fitted inside the building or garden within 2 or 3 meters usually on the same pillar as the electric latch. It directly controls any 12 V latch or an electric lock.
  • The indoor handset unit
    Allows the user to identify visitors and to control the opening of doors and gates, and to verify their status, open or closed on the LCD display. It is composed of a cordless handset and a base unit.
